Day 16 More Nockberg panoramas
Today we headed back up the trail to the Nockberg spine, to as high as 2310m. Although very steep, the trail was not nearly as exposed as it was yesterday and the wind was much better, in fact the weather was perfect. We then droppped down to a ski resort where they served up an outrageous chocolate cake for our smoko/ lunch.
The views from the ridge were even better than previous days as the sky was very clear. It was then a very long descent back down to the valley floor to our guesthouse. It was a long day, we had started walking at 7.30am and stopped at 5.45pm.
The second and third last photos show the mowers they use to cut hay on very steep slopes. And I mean very steep, it is very difficult to walk across or up or down these slopes let alone cut hay on them. These machines are the only way it would be possible.
